Palm Oil Price Changed in Tianjin
Tianjin imported 35 thousand tons of palm oil in March 2003 and 40 thousand tons in April. The international market price of palm oil is effected that of in Tianjin market. The price of local soybean salad oil is greatly decreased.
In early April, the Malaysia quoted price of palm oil was FOB 415USD/ton while in Tianjin market the price is FOB4760-4780 RMB/ton. In mid-term of April, the palm oil in Malaysia was still between 415 and 425RMB/ton while in Tianjin market the price is between 4740-4820RMB/ton. In late April in Malaysia, the price of palm oil dropped greatly from 425USD/ton to 407.5USD/ton and also in Tianjin the price is continuously decreasing from 4880RMB/ton to 4640RMB/ton.
Price of Early Rice Will Increase
It is estimated that in this year, China¡¯s sowing area of early rice will have a little increase. The main reason is the benefit from the planting is obvious in the past two years. Meanwhile, the planting area for the high quality early rice will be further increase. The percentage that the area of high quality rice is 70% in the year 2002 and it will be 75%-80% in this year. In this year the price of early rice will increase.
The main reason for the price increase is that firstly, the demand for the early rice is increasing although the output is also increasing. Secondly, the quality of early rice will be further increase.
Wheat Export Exceeded 140 thousand tons in Lianyungang
It is reported from Lianyungang Port, from January to March 2003, it export the edible wheat for 27 shipments of 142.3 thousand tons.
In the year 2003, the world¡¯ s major wheat export countries suffered different natural disaster and the output reduced greatly, especially America, Canada, Australia. The grain price increased in the international market, which bring an export opportunity for China, the wheat are mainly produced in Henan and exported to Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia.
