Fresh Milk Production in Hohehot will Excess One Million Ton in 2003
March 5. The Hohehot Municipality is planning to increase the inventory of dairy cattle to about 320,000 head and to produce more than one million metric ton of fresh milk. There are two milk processors in Hohehot - Yili and Mengniu, which are among the top five in China. Yili is the largest milk processor in China and Mengniu is the fifth largest milk processor in China. The consist expansion and development of two companies have been strongly promoting the growth of the dairy industry in the area.
The Market Price of Eggs is at the Lowest Point for Last Ten Years
March 8. Recently, the market prices of chicken eggs in Beijing, Shanghai, Hebei and Heilongjiang have decreased the lowest points for the past ten years. Even in the traditional high price markets such as Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the market price of chicken eggs is around 4 RMB per kg. According to the industry experts, the over supply is the main reason for the low market price.
Two Korean Companies Purchased 25,900 ton of Soybean Meal from China
March 12. Xihua News ¨C It is reported that two Korean companies named Pusan KFA and MFG have signed the purchase contract to import 25,900 metric ton (MT) of soybean meal from China. The first shipment of 12,200 MT will arrive to Korea on May 25 and the second shipment of 13,700 MT will arrive to Korea on June 5, 2003.
