1st China International Veterinarian and Veterinary Medicine Technology Exhibition¡± will be held in Chengdu Next Year

1st China International Vveterinarian and Veterinary Medicine Technology Exhibition will be hold in Chengdu International Conference Center during the June 6-8 2004. There will be four sections: medical equipments, laboratory instruments, pet appliances, and medical materials, and other new equipments and appliances about cleaning environment.

Because of the SARS, the exhibition is going to have a discussion about how to set up a forecast mechanism to face the outburst events.

The Price of Animal Feed Increased in China Recently

From late August 2003, affected by the market price of soybean meal, the price of animal feed increased significantly. The market prices of soybean meal, cottonseed meal and lysine have already reached the highest level since 2000. The import fish meal, rapeseed meal, lysine, corn also increased in different extent.

Soybean Meal£ºIn October, with the influence of international market, the price of soybean meal raised quickly. On October 15 the price of soybean meal in Shandong was 3050 RMB yuan per ton, raised 940 RMB yuan as compared with the price on August 4, and increased about 44.5%. In Zhengzhou, the price of soybean meal was 3150 RMB yuan per ton, raised 970 RMB yuan as compared with the price on August 4, and increased about 44.5%. Just in one month, the price of soybean meal raised in such a big margin, which never happened in the last several years.

Cotton seed meal: Because of the rainy weather the yield of cotton in China is relatively low and in 2003. with the influence by the raising price of the soybean meal, the price of cottonseed meal also raised. On October 15, the price of cottonseed meal was 1700 RMB yuan per ton, increased 340 RMB yuan per ton as compared with the price on August 4, raised about 26.9%.

Lysine: With the influence of the international market and the raising price of soybean meal, the price of Lysine also raised. On October 15, the price of Lysine in Zhengzhou raised to 35 RMB yuan per kg, which was 14 RMB more than the price on August 4, or increased 66.7% in two months.

Imported fish meal: With the influence by the raising price of the soybean meal, the price of the imported fish meal increased 250 RMB between August 4 and October 15 and reached 5700 RMB yuan per ton in middle October. Because of the large stock of imported fish meal in different ports in China(more than 130 thousand tons), the supply of imported fish meal seems plenty.

 

China Plans to Supply 10 Million Packages of Student Milk Each Day in 2010

The Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) plans to expand ¡°The Student Milk Project¡± to 100 cities and counties and supply 10 million packages each day. This plan will bring big business opportunity for Chinese dairy products enterprises.

MOA is planning to strongly develop the dairy industry in Northeast, Northern China, Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai. In 2015, it is expected to produce 33 million ton of milk and per capita production reaches 23kg. In 2010 the student milk program only consumes about 2% of the total production; however, it will significantly improve the youth health.
