Based on the Xinhua News, the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) has decided to invest 170 million RMB to support the “High Oil Yield Soybean Production Project” in Heilongjiang Province. In 2003, the total acreage of high oil yield soybean will be 10 million mu (15 mu = 1 ha.). This project will be implemented in about 60 counties in the province. It is planned that Heilongjiang will set up a major high oil yield soybean production base (non-GMO) in three years.
