As estimated, in the year 2003, the wheat output will be decreased 150 thousand tons in Hebei Province, mainly because the decreasing of winter wheat sowing area in 2002 and the dry whether in the sowing period.

In 2002 in Hebei Province, the sowing area of winter wheat was 32.29 million mu, 6.41 million mu lower than that of last year, an decrease of 16.5%. As estimated, the output will be 9.69 million tons.
