Scientists find 3 rare tigers in the wild

Scientists believe there are at least three South China tigers living in the wild in Central China's Hunan Province after finding footprints of the rare species and reports of sheep being attacked nearby in previous months.
One of the tigers is thought to be living in the province's Wuyunjie Natural Protection Zone in Taoyuan County, while the other two are in the Xuanpingshan Natural Protection Zone in Shimen County.
The new discovery is a positive sign for scientists working to save the rare species of tiger from extinction in the wild.
There are fewer than 10 South China tigers left in the wild in the Guangdong, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces and in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, while 60 are being raised in zoos.
