Shanghai International Agriculture/ Livestock and Poultry Exhibition
|
March
14-16, 2001
Shanghai International Exhibition Center
The ninth presentation of China's largest and
longest running national griculture/agribusiness event will debut
in Shanghai in 2001. Agro Expo Shanghai 2001 represents a new vision
for the future of Chinese agriculture. As the world enters a new millennium,
China will build upon its centuries of history to explore new technologies
and concepts in the changing world of agricultural progress and cooperation.
China is one of the world's largest agricultural producers and has
know most of its agricultural growth within the last twenty years,
expanding at a rate of nearly 10% per year and should increase tremendously
as a result of the pending WTO agreements. The benefits of increased
market access will be realized by other countries as the bilateral
agreements, will spur other unilateral agreements and competition.
This new order of trade opens many new opportunities within agricultural
commerce and China stands at the forefront for agricultural growth
and opportunities.
China has long has to meet the challenge of food availability through
the production of food sources and through the use of international
trade, to supplement the Chinese food supply. As China prepares to
join the WTO, many traditional means of conducting agricultural trade
will be affected in meaningful ways that will bring mutual benefits
to China and its worldwide trading partners.
Highlights of the Changes that will result from China's entry into
the WTO:
China will establish a "tariff only" import system, where all non-tariff
barriers will be eliminated. China will lower tariffs on agricultural
equipment from 11.54% to o5.75% by January 1,2002.
Tariffs on agricultural products will decline form an overall average
of 22% to 17.5%. This will open distribution for farm machinery and
agricultural products that currently do not exist. Agricultural machinery
will present greater sales and profit potential.
China has agreed that any entity will be able to import most products,
including agricultural equipment, into any part of China.
China will permit foreign enterprises to engage in full range of distribution
services.
The Ministry of Agriculture plans to enlarge the use of mechanization
in tilling, Sowing and harvesting by 80%, 60% and 40% respectively.
These are a few of the dramatic changes that will present new opportunities
for trade. China will have a better international environment for
exporting agricultural goods. China must speed up its agricultural
production and develop competitive agricultural products to compete.
China will bring in more advanced agricultural machinery and technologies
from foreign countries to upgrade production and accelerate modernization.
Agro Expo Shanghai 2001 brings together the latest developments in
the field of agriculture to meet the needs of China as it enters the
world marketplace of the new century and the WTO.
Agro Expo Shanghai 2001
Will Focus on:
Agricultural machinery and equipment for grain, rice, cotton, straw,
fruit, vegetables, (tractors, pulverizes, choppers, diggers, loaders,
seeders, fertilizers, choppers, diggers, loaders, seeds, fertilizers,
combines, pickers, etc.), processing machinery, feed dryers and storage
equipment; irrigation equipment, aquaculture machinery and equipment,
analytical instruments and equipment for botanical research, etc.
Livexpo Shanghai 2001
Will focus on:
Poultry, swine and livestock equipment and technologies to include
breeding, new genetic improvements, feed stuffs and additives, animal
housing and environmental systems, health products, medicines, disposal
of animal by-products and waste disposal technology, etc.
With the rapid development of the Chinese economy, the animal industry,
which is the backbone of the state designated "Food Basket Project"
is booming. Improved standards of living and the introduction of more
meat products into what has been a largely vegetarian diet has increased
meat consumption in China. However the technology and management systems
in the area of animal husbandry are inefficient. In the current Five
Year Plan,
Agriculture and animal husbandry has been given top priority.
With a population of 1.3 billion, China is the best potential market
in Asia in the field of animal husbandry. It provides countless business
opportunities for those companies that are the first to be a part
of this tremendous marketplace growth. Livexpo Shanghai 2001 has been
chosen by the Shanghai municipal Government as the one major event
for foreign investment opportunities and for the purchase of advanced
technologies and equipment in the areas of animal husbandry. At Livexpo
Shanghai' 99, over 350 million RMB was designated for investment to
improve animal disposal equipment, large scale breeding facilities,
animal housing and environmental systems and many more similar types
of equipment and technologies.
Shanghai, with its population of over 14 million, is regarded as one
of China's major entries points for the introduction of new developments
in science and technology. Many foreign companies regard Shanghai
as the most ideal showcase to present their latest products and services.
Over 77% of the exhibitors at Livexpo Shanghai ' 99 expressed their
interest in attending Livexpo Shanghai 2001.
Over 70% of the visitors of Livexpo Shanghai' 99 were involved in
the sales decision making process.
Livexpo Shanghai 2001 is the best way to enter the Chinese market
and capture the new sales opportunities that exist as China joins
the WTO.
Livexpo Shanghai 2001 is a rare opportunity to be first as China enters
the global trade community.

The
7th International Packaging & Processing Exhibition
|
|
Shanghai
Everbright Exhibition Center, Shanghai 17-20 July 2001
EXitting
Economic Developments =Increase Sales Opportunities
The Chinese packaging and processing
industries valued at over US$1.21
billion in Z000 and forecast to rise by around 2o% till Zoos are
booming.
The area experiencing rapid development is in Shanghai and the East
China
region along the East coast.
Strong export demand and accelerated production have driven China's
industrial output figures in Z000 to their highest levels in 3 years
and well
beyond the expectations of most economists. The realistic projection
is
that for the first time in 7 years China is expected to climb out
of a growth
slowdown and gross domestic product is forecast to reach 7%.
With international protocols in place such as China' US Permanent
Normal Trade Relations and China-European Union market access
agreement, China's entry to the World Trade Organization seems likely.
Coupled with the reduction of import tariffS this will create further
opportunities for international suppliers of processing and packaging
technology seeking access to China's top processing and packaging
buyers.
Where better to assess the market, establish contacts or consolidate
existing business than at China's established and largest international
trade show: ProPak China 2ool.
