New Administration Rules for Foodstuff Import and Export 

China will promulgate a new set of rules for the administration of labels on import and export of foodstuffs and cosmetics. 

The new rules will unify the standards for the examination of labels on foodstuffs and cosmetics, which will be added this time, by import and export commodities inspection, animal and vegetable quarantine and health quarantine departments. 

The new rules stipulate that importers and exporters of foodstuffs and cosmetics must register, have the labels examined and standardized before they can make any imports and exports. 

It is learned that the new rules will become effective no later than at the end of this year.
